To wrap up our Physical Properties Unit, we created Texture Creatures. The students were given foil, bubble wrap, sand paper, construction paper, cotton balls, and yarn. They were asked to use their imagination and create a creature using all the different textures. These creatures will be on display during Open House!

First grade LOVED the Pep Rally last Friday and enjoyed meeting our PUHA Pal, Aavash!!! Go, #13!!!!!!

First Grade Science is FUN!
 We began the year learning about Science Safety and having a Science Safety relay. The students were divided into teams. Each team member had to run to the end of the room, dress in safety gear, run back, take off safety gear, and tag the next person. The kids had a blast and learned lots!
     After learning about safety we moved into classifying objects by their physical properties. Ask you kiddos to sing the "Matter" song to you.
     Stay tuned for our "Changes from Heat" lessons. They are going to be HOT! :)

In Math class, we have been learning addition facts. Please remember to work with children on their addition math facts. Flash cards will be coming home in their folders soon!
